The Portland Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade started in my neighborhood this morning.

While I was at first intrigued, I was ultimately displeased.  All of those drummers were hurtin’ my ears.

Even though we tried to go around it, we just couldn’t get away fast enough.

Crazy costumes, loud noises, and lots of people.  Oh goody goody gumdrops.  Get me outa here!

parade2

Lets do a little more walking around NW Portland, shall we?  It’s a lovely day – an unexpectedly sunny one – so I’m up for a long walk.

parade3

All of the windstorms we’ve been having have been GREAT.  Can you guess why?

parade5

Wind = STICKS

parade6

Oh, can I have that fine stick you’ve got there mama?

parade7

PLEEEEEEEEEEEZE…

parade8

This one is quite lovely.  Portable size, yet large enough to keep up appearances.  And so tasty too!

parade9

I’ve just got to do a little more work on this end, and then I’ll be ready to walk again.  You don’t mind waiting, do you mama?  OF COURSE YOU DON’T.

  1. Bogie, you are such a woolly mammoth! And I think you get fluffier and cutier with every day. And I am sure you do let your mama to chew on your stick a bit, too, right? Sharing (particularly slimy stick with one’s mama) makes everybody feel soooooo good at heart … he he he.

    Luv,
Bel (still coming to terms with the concept of sharing)

  2. That’s one great stick you have there, Bogie! We know your mama doesn’t eat turkey, but we hope you got something yummy for Thanksgiving! BTW, we just read the post about the beautimous trinket box that M & M’s mom sent to your mom. For some strange reason, we all think of your mama whenever we see ladybugs now!

    Aire-hugs,
    Poppy, Penny & Patches
