First Dog?

Now I don’t like to get involved in politics – I’ve gone out of my way NOT to mention anything up until now – but today I’ll just say this – I’M A HAPPY BOY

On that note, I’ve heard that our next president has promised his two daughters that after the election they could have a dog. Excellent choice my friend, a good president MUST have a pet. So now the big choice is what kind of dog will they choose?

Yes I can say that Airedales are FANTASTIC dogs, but knowing that they have not had a dog before I’m gonna have to pass on recommending that the first family starts off their dog-filled life with a Dale. Mama says that I’m a HANDFUL AND A HALF, and not a good choice for someone who has not had dogs before. There is apparently also the issue that one of the daughters may be somewhat allergic.

I was gonna throw out some breeds of my own that I thought might work nicely for them, and then mama saw this post that she thought was pretty darned funny. Ultimately, I just hope that they find the RIGHT dog for them, that they do their research into breeds (whether they go for a purebred or a mixed breed pup) and everything that the First Dog is gonna need.

The Furminator – Take 1

The fine folks over at Furminator sent me a fantastic package full of goodies for me to try…

We’ve got some of their deshedding shampoo, their deshedding conditioner, a special water-less shampoo, a Furminator, AND their deshedding treats!!! Woo-hoo this is gonna be FUN.

So we decide to test out the shampoo and conditioner first. This means that dad has to “suit up”…

Uh oh. Looks like it’s time to be HOSED

Uh, maybe we could test the water-less shampoo first, huh dad?

Doesn’t look like it. He’s getting fully suited up, this could be bad…

Heading out to the backyard for the wash, fluff and fold.

S-i-n-g-i-n-g i-n t-h-e r-a-i-n…

This stuff smells FANTASTIC, and mama was really happy that it wasn’t really sudsy – apparently many dog shampoos are very sudsy which makes it difficult to wash completely out of my fuzz which can irritate my delicate skin. WINNER!!!

I also got to try out their treats – check out the video for that – OHMYDOG they are SUPER YUMMY!!! All of the Furminator products are meant to stop serious shedding, not a huge problem for me as an Airedale, but they smell good and work really well. The conditioner made my fuzz shiny!

I was going to test the Furminator as well today since now I’m nice and clean, but mama ran out of steam. So that will be next. I LOVED the treats, and mama LOVED the shampoo and conditioner. So these products get TWO PAWS UP from me!!!

Dogs 101

Hey dogs! Animal Planet is going to be starting a brand new series called Dogs 101 this weekend – why am I so excited? Well, because they were smart enough to include the ever-so-fine Airedale Terrier in the lineup for week one!!! This weekend will be the Airedale, French Bulldog, Poodle, Chihuahua, and Labrador Retriever.

This should be GREAT!!! I’m a BIG fan of my Animal Planet. Mama loves it too so she’s DEFINITELY going to be watching – I wanted to have a house party, you know, invite over some other doggies for some brewskis and pizza, but since she’s going to be here it’s going to be a more low-key affair. Probably just me and mama with some kitties walking in and out, maybe a jerky treat or two. Still sounds GREAT!

America’s Pet Store

The fine folks at America’s Pet Store sent me some of their bestsellers to test out – to find out how a real Dale uses their products. I’m in!

First dad set up the Waterproof Bench Seat Cover in the back of the Bogcedes.

It looks good, compliments the black and tan nicely, and doesn’t feel scratchy on the paws or the delicate, wiry fuzz.

I kind of like this actually.

It makes me feel like the entire back seat is mine (which is great, because I’ve always felt at home in the front seat, but sometimes I am forced to ride in the back…)

And now for the Pet Vehicle Safety Harness. I’ve never worn one of these that’s this nice – mama tried one of these ages ago but it wasn’t padded and lets just say that I didn’t like it (rather than what actually happened – in my displeasure I destroyed it).

This one is adjustable at 4 points, helpful for a deep-chested male such as myself…

And it’s got a short leash that attaches to the seat belt.

Think you’re just going to strap me in? HA HA HA

Ok, I’m sitting up straight like a good boy. Looks kind of snazzy, doesn’t it?

It’s definitely comfy, a HUGE plus for me. And it really does fit nicely…

Ah well, I guess I can’t run all around the back seat being strapped down, huh?

At least I can still look out the window…

It’s actually not that bad – I do feel pretty snug.

And if I want to jump into the car after getting all wet and muddy, I’ve got my new waterproof seat cover so dad doesn’t yell at muddy paws on the seats. IT’S ALL GOOD

The Loved Dog

Lookie lookie here… a PACKAGE FOR ME

Yesss! The nice folks over at Fresh Pet sent me some of their newest treats to try… these are, like their Deli Fresh rolls of dog food, meant to be refrigerated. They’re called The Loved Dog, and I got some beef and some chicken to try out!

First the sniff… I’d like to try the beef first please…

The last thing a beef treat sees…

That was good… now how about some of that chicken?

Lets start out being delicate…

Oh the heck with that, GIMME THAT TREAT

As always, in return for free booty I promise my true, unadulterated review. These were FANTASTIC! Mama was surprised – she says that the soft treats aren’t usually my faves, and she wasn’t sure if I was going to like theses – but wow are these tasty. Both the beef and the chicken. I assume you can get these in the same places that the Fresh Pet rolls of food are sold (I’ve bought them in PetCo in Los Angeles, and I just saw some at a Fred Meyer here in Portland), and based on my very scientific testing I must recommend that you cajole your humans into trying a bag. It’s up to you whether you go for the chicken or the beef, I just couldn’t decide.

Going for Guinness – Firefox 3!

Today is the big download day! Get yer new version of Firefox 3 and join the Guinness Record race – the good folks at Firefox want to set a Guinness World Record for most software downloads in a day… so mom and I downloaded our new version onto her (uh, that’s MINE) laptop.

Ack… things are running s-l-o-w-l-y. I guess that’s what happens when people all over the world try to do something at the same time!!!

Ok, almost done…

Woo-hoo! Now we’re fully loaded with smokin’ hot software and hopefully helped get that Guinness record going! Love ya Firefox!!!
