Ok – first there is the disclaimer that there are absolutely NO PHOTOS to go along with today’s post.  Moms fault – this time she somehow magically got the zoom to stop zooming and the battery had run out.  I know, I know, I wasn’t buying it either, but with these big old paws it’s tough to do my own photography.

So this morning we got all bundled into the car – me, mom, and dad – and started off toward what I thought was going to be another fun day of workout with my pawsonal trainer, Heidi.  We drove to her house and dad got out of the car.  But then he closed the door and waved goodbye and mom took off!  Hey, that was my stop!  I was supposed to get out there too!  She kept insisting that we really did have somewhere else to go (oh great mom, I can go with you to do errands instead of running with my trainer?) and that it was going to be fun.

    I remained unconvinced.

The drive was long and kind of wiggly because there was some parade going through our neighborhood.  Most Sundays there seems to be something going on in this part of Sunset Boulevard so it’s blocked off and mom has to take a more “scenic” route.  This generally involves lots of quick maneuvers and some swearing at policemen when the girlie routine doesn’t work.  It takes a lot longer to get wherever we’re going, and I miss out on a lot of “Aire time” (me with my head out the window).  But whatever, there wasn’t much I could do so I just hung out the window greeting my loyal public and accepting compliments while she drove.

Then we pulled into the parking lot of Good Microbrew.  Ok, I like that place, they always bring me a little something and the admiration level is pretty high.  So we found a spot, I got excited (I didn’t want to get left behind again..) and we got out.

And then I saw her…. in the distance, at a prime table, waving.  It was Marieke!!!!  She’s the mom of my 3 Airedale buddies (Robin, Kermit & Jupie) that I haven’t seen in forever… I was soooooooooo excited to see her that I jumped into her lap and did my puppy bark and face lick (basically mom is the only person in the world that I do this for – partially because she really likes it and partially because she’s the only person who lets me do it) and couldn’t believe that it was her!!!!!   She’s sooooooo nice and so much fun, and she makes mom really happy.  We had a really long lunch that I wasn’t even jonesing to leave (although I did want a piece of that crazy little dachshund in the winter coat), and I got to show off some of my best sitting, laying down, and shaking paw in exchange for some of her burger.  Yes since mom is a vegetarian the best I can usually hope for is a small piece of cheese falling from heaven but with Marieke it was burger pieces!!!  I think I ate as much of her burger as she did!!!

We always discuss a LOT about Airedales whenever we’re together, and she helps mom out a lot in understanding more about us.  She’s the person who gave mom the stripping tools that make me into such a handsome devil today (since I was rather a wooly puppy).  We also compare things like my lack of full-on fuzzy disco pants (what mom calls the fur on my legs), and my rather fetching moustache.

She’s sooooooooooooo nice, and I miss her and her dogs sooooooooooooooooo much.  Now here’s the kicker.  You’d think that because I don’t get to see them that much that they live far away but nooooooo…. they live right in our neighborhood, it’s just that mom is doing too much of that “work” thing I’ve been complaining about lately.  I think we all came to the agreement that this should change, and I feel a full-Airedale visit coming on soon with all the love that was going around today.

Thanks so much for lunch today Marieke!!!!!  Big kisses to Robin, Kermit & Jupie!!!

Bogart Xmas Cards Bogart Xmas Cards Bogart Xmas Cards

Mom waited for me to get home (after my training day) and she had a few envelopes addressed to meeeee!  First I went into the office to make sure that she had been diligently working all day on MY cards (yup, looks good to me) then it was time to tear ‘em open!

Today I got cards from Opy & Charlie and from Comet & BLU!  Everyone looks SOOO great in their photos!!!!  I noticed that the envelope from Opy & Charlie had a stamp with a Tazmanian Devil on it (a relative of mine, I’m sure)!

I wasn’t sure at first exactly what I was supposed to DO with my cards.  My first thought – eating them – didn’t go over that well with mom. She explained that we were going to hang them up in the office to look at which seems like a decent compromise (at least I can look at my friends all the time)!

I’ll have great dreams of my great doggie friends tonight… I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

If it's not an Airedale it's just a dog

Thought I was going to miss seeing my Airedale buddies today because I had to go to the vet… when we got in the car I was sure that we were going straight to the vet with no fun for Bogie… well, I was wrong!  I knew something was off when we went straight down Sunset instead of turning.

    Airedales!!!!

I did get to see my Dale buddies briefly – they had already been frolicking and were now on their way home – and mom gave her friend this cool Airedale sticker (you can get them on ebay) while I was wiggling my butt and saying hi to my favorite Dales.  Then mom’s friend gave her the coolest tile that she made!  It’s the Mona Lisa holding an Airedale, ok how cool is that???

Mom has such TALENTED friends, I feel so cool…

    Ruff Ruff Bakery

After the dog park this morning, I was dog tired.

Mom and dad had to go to the Hollywood Farmers Market, so I offered to stay home and guard the cats.  Of course they could have begged me more heartily to come along, but since I’d just be sitting in the car anyway maybe it was for the best (no dogs allowed at the market).

When they returned mom told me a great story.  She had met a really nice lady named Annie who makes doggie treats!  Now just so everyone in the world knows – if anyone wants to send me treats or toys to try out anytime I AM YOUR MAN – I’m always game to try something new and yummy.

So mom and Annie were talking – mostly about us, their dogs of course – and Annie was nice enough to give mom a bag of treats for me!!! Woo-hoo!!! Mom was telling me the story of how Rusty the Cocker Spaniel inspired Annie to create these treats… yeah yeah yeah mom, I know, that’s sweet and all, but GIVE ME THAT BAG.

I could smell those treats the second that dad brought them into the house, and had my nose deep in dads plastic bag trying to figure out what was in there!!!

I sampled the Lovin Liver & Bacon treats:

I have to say that these Ruff Ruff treats are DELICIOUS!!! Usually when I first try a new treat I approach kind of tentatively, giving it a good sniff before I dare to bite.  Who knows what healthy thing those humans might be trying to slip me?  Huh?  What’s that mom?  These ARE healthy?  Nooooooo…….. can’t be.  They taste TOO GOOD.

    THANKS ANNIE & RUSTY!!!!!

    Bogie and Selene

    Ohmygosh!!

Today I got to meet THE coolest chick – Selene Luna!

She’s a friend of my mom’s, and so incredibly adorable!  She’s FAMOUS, she’s a performer and an actress, and today we went over to her house so that I could meet her.  Mom had told me that she was great, but once I got inside her house I got soooooo excited that I could barely contain myself.  I was barking and jumping, doing all the things I shouldn’t do when I see someone famous.

I’ll try to remember not to do that for next time Selene!!!!

My mom has a great friend in New York, he’s an artist named David Remfry. He’s one of her very favorite people in the whole world – whenever she talks with him on the phone, they laugh like hyaenas. She used to be one of his models too, I’ve seen the pictures that he drew of her and the paintings and they look just like her so he must be good…. The funny thing too is that when mom was telling David that she had just gotten me, he told her that he had a dog named Bogey when he was little! So now they both have Bogeys…. (the other Bogart was a Scottish Terrier).

I like him even more now – he sent me a present! It’s a Sniffers bar – just like the ones that mom eats, except that mine is bigger and furrier (and of course, no chocolate for me). It’s got a great squeaker and I insisted on bringing it to work with mom and me today.

He also sent a present for the kitties – a Kitty Spliff! You should have seen Kafka the orange tabby with that fattie hanging out of his mouth, all hopped up on catnip… we’ll try to get a picture of him with it, it’s hilarious!!!

We love you David!!!! Thanks for the great presents!!!! Mom says HI!!!!!!

(this is mom as a South Park character! I think it looks just like her!)
1000…. That’s a big number. I hope that means that a lot of people tune in to look at me (because after all, the sun rises and falls in the sky because I’m here)!I’m having so much fun doing my blog, pushing for more adventures, kicking mom in the butt to type out my thoughts for me. And I’ve got some great friends because of it! Some cool Airedales, lots of other doggies, and even some kitties! I love to link to everyone, so if you want to have a link on my blog just email mom at secrtrix@yahoo.com and I’ll have her get right on that….

Tonight I got to meet someone famous – he’s a friend of my mom and dad’s, his name is Christof Kohlhoffer and he’s an artist. We have some of his paintings around our place (I’ve seen them before and wanted to bite them but they’re always just high enough that I can’t get to them – so far…).

He’s a really nice German guy, we all had dinner together. I was especially intrigued by his shoes, the picture will show you why:

I’ve never seen so many bright colors in shoes before! Mom always wears boring black shoes, but these were mesmerizing! I couldn’t take my eyes off of them, or my teeth.

Wow, today I had THE coolest experience so far of my time in Los Angeles…

Mom found an Airedale Yahoo Group and signed up, and she mentioned that I have my own blog. Well so many nice people sent me email that they had looked at it, thought I was adorable (yes, praise works really, really well for me) and loved the blog! One very nice lady, Michelle, sent us a note that she lives nearby and that her niece works at a local cafe called the Mustard Seed Cafe in Silverlake and that we should visit sometime.

Well mom told dad the story. Usually I go with mom to work but today I got to spend the day with dad, which is always fun because it means that he’ll make me run really fast and I always somehow work in getting really, really dirty and muddy. After our morning run, dad thought it might be interesting to go over to the Mustard Seed Cafe because he was hungry, and it seemed like they would be dog-friendly if we sat outside. Fine with me! So we went and met the really nice waitress who was so excited to see me (I’m soooooo getting used to people loving me at first sight) that she called her aunt to say that there was an Airedale there. And of course, her aunt was the nice lady that sent us the email about going to the Cafe in the first place….

So we’ll be going there a lot in the future, I’m sure. Thanks Michele & Tanner (and thanks for the picture)!

    Love,
    Bogart
