To my beautiful dreamgirl,

Today I received your Valentine’s Day card and my heart started thumping.  The fact that you had pawsonally signed it got me so excited…

I know I’m not much of a poet or anything, but I did send off a little something to you as well… I hope you receive it soon and that you’ll be my Valentine!

After I opened your card, dad gave me a piece of roast beef – supposedly for us to “share”.  So first I bit off half, saving half for you, then it fell on my nose so I had to eat the whole thing.  I know you would understand.

Mom is in the process of making a nice page with ALL of my Christmas cards on it because she got so behind in thanking everyone for the great cards!!!

But I insisted on taking a special moment for my girl-Dales, Sunshade, Faya, and Maggie, and writing them a little love letter…

Tonight I spent a little alone-time with their fantastic cards and lovely presents… you girls make me feel so special!!!

These were from my dreamgirl Sunshade my Canadian cutie, I cannot believe how beautiful and personal she made my card!

And the “Airedale Taxi Service” sign is perfection!!!!! I’m completely over the moon for Miss Sunshade and think she was especially good at directing her mom and making amazing cards…

And this was from Faya, all the way from Switzerland!!! My European babe! I think she looks especially fetching with her Santa hat cocked jauntily to one side, don’t you? Thank you for the beautiful calendar, I wish Los Angeles was so pretty!!!!

And of course who could forget my FANTASTIC Airedale ornament (looks just like me!!!) from Maggie! This has been the ONLY ornament on MY tree (yes I have my own little silver one – I’m not afraid of it anymore!) ever since I put up my tree. So I can look at it over and over and think of my pretty Aire-girl, Maggie.

Looks like I’ve got my ladies on many continents… girls you make my Aire-heart beat so much faster!!!!!

Ah Miss Sunshade, you’ve MADE MY DAY!!!

I know you have so many admirers – worthy adversaries, all – who send you presents, write you poetry, and generally admire you as I do.  But it makes my heart sing to know that you think I’m special!!!!

And yes of course I did some extra-special rolling on your card because you’re my special girl… until I can find that big box to send myself to you my dear…

Ah my beautiful Aire-girl… seeing you in that wedding dress set my heart a-flutter. I was inspired to put on my top hat and whistle you a tune…

Today mom had a “job interview”.  I wasn’t sure what this meant, so I tried to ask her… but her car broke down yesterday so we had to visit the mechanic before she could go.  So I had to wait to ask.

Walter at Budget Auto Repair is one of our favorite people.  He’s German and a REAL mechanic.  He always fixes mom and dads cars so that they run really well (until they break down that is – but apparently this is always mom’s fault anyway).

Well we got there and I got to see my girl Ferocious – loyal readers will remember her from posts awhile back, the last time that moms car broke down, when I introduced her as my latest squeeze.  Well she’s still as foxy as ever, so we played while the humans talked about spark plugs.

I overheard mom talking about her interview and a light went on in my head.  Maybe it was time – since I’m such a big boy now – for me to go on a job interview.  I thought for a moment about what I was good at, what I could do to contribute to the household.  I asked Ferocious about her “job” – as autoshop guard dog – and had an “A-ha!” moment.  I could do that…

So Ferocious started to show me the ropes.  She first had me walk the perimeter to stake out any evil-doers.  Then hiding around the cars was the next lesson.  Where to pee so that everyone knows you’re on duty is very important, so we worked on that for awhile.

I think I may have it mom – I’ll be bringing home the bacon soon (mmm, b-a-c-o-n…)…
