For a few months now, my buddy Stanley has been at the helm of a beard-growing contest – we all had a check-in, and now it’s time for all of that growth to pay off.

While I am a HUGE fan of Stanley (and of course the Stellanator), I really do not enjoy the measuring process.

I didn’t make it particularly simple for mama to do.

GIMME THAT – missing opposable thumbs be damned!!!

I fully realize that the photos aren’t super clear – but I’m also not claiming to have grown a helluva lot of beard.  My furnishings just never have been that full and fluffy – or copious.

It might be a tiny bit longer, but I’m only gonna claim 3 LOUSY INCHES – that might even be less than when I started!!!

Centimeters… Inches… it’s all Greek to me…

So today a light bulb went off in my head (not literally, of course, just a grand idea that finally became clear).  In reading through comments and emails it seems that I wasn’t entirely clear when describing what I was looking for in the Be My Baby Mama contest.  That’s probably why no one entered!!!

Yes, I am looking ultimately for my dreamgirl in the fuzzy flesh – but for the contest, I just wanted help in writing a personal ad that I’d be putting onto my website.  So anyone can participate – you don’t have to be a girl Dale to take part!

I am going to restart the contest – hopefully I’m much clearer this time! – and end it on November 30th.

So – to reiterate what the contest is, and what I’m looking for:

Your mission is to help me create my PAWSONAL AD to help me find a special Dale lady to have my fine Dale babies.

Are you a great writer? Then YOU should write the ad itself, something that makes me look GOOD – handsome, rugged, individualistic yet also charming, lovable and ready to mambo – that will help me to attract my special lady love.

Are you into artwork? Then YOU should make the photo/collage/macaroni art that will accompany the ad itself.  Stretch your Photoshop skills, or cut and paste.  Whatever medium you think is right works for me.  Feel free to take any photos from my website (www.toaireisdivine.com) to use.

I have fresh copies of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Loving Our Dogs courtesy of the publishers to give away to two lucky winners!  This is a brand-spanking-new book that you’re gonna love.

Dad and I thought it was time to go through our garden and get the final veggies of the year.  Not much left at this point, the tomatos are TINY (regular sized roma shown for comparison).

Searching for those last few stragglers…

Dad requires a lot of supervision, so I’m here to do the job.

There is also some kohlrabi, so we plucked those for stewing…

Now that it’s November, I’d hoped to be announcing the winners of the Be My Baby Mama contest – but I got zero entries!  I thought it would be cool – writing my personal ad or making up my personal ad photo – but something must have just gone wrong.  I still have these really cool Loving Our Dogs books from the Chicken Soup for the Soul folks, and I definitely do want to give them away to my readers.

So dogs I’m askin’ – was the contest too vague?  Too difficult?  Not explained really well?  Enquiring minds need to know…

I’ll have to come up with something else, I suppose.  All of this thinking is making me HUNGRY…

Mama says that she’s getting a little crazy watching all of my Airedale friends all over the world add more pups to their packs.  She wants us to join in the fun!

Guess I have to get crackin’ on the baby-makin’.  And why not – I’m young, virile, AKC-registered, intact, and FAMOUS – what girl Dale wouldn’t want to do some dirty dancin’ with me?

The problem?  I NEED TO FIND THAT SPECIAL GIRL-DALE

She should be young, bearded, AKC Airedale Terrier, living with a loving and responsible breeder, and of course ready to mamba with me!  Ladies, I stand ready to diversify your local gene pool.

The fine folks at Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing want to help me in my quest.  They have given me 3 brand spanking new copies of Chicken Soup For the Soul: Loving Our Dogs to give to my readers!  This book has 101 of the best stories they’ve ever published, heartwarming and humorous stories about dogs.

I think I need a classified ad for my, ahem, services.  Yes, I’m looking for my baby-mama.  Someone who will carry my fine, handsome devil Dale babies.

So here are the 3 categories for winning yourself a copy of this great book (one winner in each category):

1.  Create my classified ad photo – take any of my photos on my blog and create (photoshop, collage, macaroni art, it’s all good) the photo that will catch the eye of my future special lady…

2.  Create my classified ad text – Witty banter just isn’t enough.  Write my personal ad for me.  I do want my future baby-mama to learn all about me, but I know that I have to do something above and beyond to stand out in the seas of black-and-tan fuzzy men out there.  Double entendres are actively encouraged, the ladies do love someone who can make them laugh.

3.  Bogart’s Choice – I’m sure there will be one entry that will stand out… maybe it’s too risque, maybe it makes me laugh but it’s a close second to another entry… but it’s still deserving of a prize.
