Klaus… this is for you.  A little inside joke.  Remember for the last two years when I was sugar-free and all I talked about having was a pain au chocolat?  Well, the first bite is for you darling, I just wish you were sitting across from me and stealing that bite yourself.

Dad, I approve.  I brought her here this morning to St. Honore Cafe because she hasn’t been eating food that makes her happy lately.  And I know that we all used to come here – and it always made us all happy.

And in more important news… I HAVE FOUND WHERE THEY KEEP THE CONES HERE.

Since we moved to our new apartment, I have not been able to find any damn pine cones.  Little prickly balls of spiky fury, yes.  I have found those.  But those are not pine cones and those hurt when I crunch on them.  These are perfect – a great size for getting 5 or 6 in a mighty Dale mouth (the better to keep them from mama and drop them in the street while we are frantically crossing – fun!).

Yes dogs of the Pacific Northwest, come to Couch Park!  I have seen the pine-cone-shaped light!

Love,

Bogart & Lulu

  1. Bogart, we are sooooo glad you have found the pine cones! After all, they are one of the essentials of life for a ‘dale! Lulu, we hope you enjoyed your pastry! Right now, it’s very impawtant that you do WHATEVER makes you a little bit happy!…even if it’s just the pawsome taste of chocolate!

    Aire-hugs,
    Poppy, Penny & Patches 😀

  2. OK, I believe in the healing power of things fried in grease (I am the Steak n Shake addict, right?) but muzzer says dark chocolate conquers all. We are sorry about the missing vodka, but your “blue” laws are of a lighter shade than ours are here! NO (not wine, only beer) alcoholic beverages in Grocery stores at all. At this rate, Trader Joe’s may never arrive in Tennessee!

  5. Hi Bogie Boy..
Glad that you found your pine cones!! Looks like you’ve got a little collection of them over there..
I think your mommy may need just a bit more chocolate to cheer her up a little..

  6. We’re glad that you’re settling in to your new home – and Bogie has found the pine cones.

It must seem very sad and strange at the moment. Hold on in there.

  7. We’re still reading all your posts Lulu and Bogart – we just haven’t commented in a while, so sorry. We love all the new things you are doing in your life and think you make a great twosome – you are really looking after each other. Klaus would be very proud to see how you are getting along. And Bogart – keep collecting those cones – you are the pine-cone king!

Loads of love – still with you and thinking of you lots from the other side of the world…..

  8. Bogart,

Good job helping your mom find some tasty foods to make her feel better. My ma ape says dark chocolate and pastries help her when she’s sad. I’m partial to things greasy and meaty.
